I've just finished this piece I bought at a garage sale. It's an adorable little buffet that I painted & distressed. It belongs to our daughter, if she wants it. If not, we've hit several ideas for how to use it.

On the 2nd day of her visit, Wendy taught Ranger Inks to the MAX
and so it was!
This was a 7 hour marathon learning techniques that were labeled and added to a ring of tags so students can refer to them and use them over and over again. This is the same method used at Ranger U, so you really got a taste of Ranger U come to YOU. Many of the techniques were taught at Ranger U when I was there last year, but many were Wendy's techniques. It was awesome to add another layer of inky knowledge and to get a different perspective from Wendy and her Studio 490 flair.
Students came up to the table where Wendy demoed and taught technique and then went back to their seats to do it themselves.
Wendy brought lots of her stamps for students to choose from to play with and use as they practiced the techniques.
Wendy combines color and uses that blending tool like nobody else I've seen.
My blending tools are going to get even more of a workout!
Kim Monroe had an admirably inky set of "nasty hands".
Wendy's stunning art was a constant inspiration to everyone.
Wendy, thanks. Thanks for coming to Estes Park, thanks for your beautiful art and inspiration, thanks for your AWESOME Studio 490 stamps, Art Parts, Clearly for Art (you've GOT to get your hands on this stuff!!), Blossom Bucket embellishments,
and thanks for making a Rocky Mountain Memory for us all!
What an awesome day! Wendy Vecchi was a Rocky Mountain Memories today sharing her creative vision, teaching techniques and inspiring all. Her visit has been long anticipated and did not disappoint. Today the class created an Inspiration Station that featured Wendy's Studio 490 stamps, Art Parts, Clearly for Art, Distress and Archival Inks. Hands got nasty.
Chara Davies, Cheryl Grigsby, Wendy Vecchi, Lee Benjamin and Peg Henderson chat before class begins.
Wendy watches while Stacy Clinton is fascinated by Studio 490 stamps. :-)
We were all fascinated by the samples of Wendy's art that she brought along!!
Tomorrow Wendy's teaching Ranger Inks to the MAX and I can't wait! It will be a 7 hour marathon of Distress, Archival, Adirondack Pigment, and Alcohol Ink goodness. I don't think those hands are going to be clean for a while. Lucky we've got Craft Scrubbies!!

Living in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado greatly influences me as a mixed media artist. For me, the Rockies are much more than granite and elk. The birds, the wildflowers, the smells and sounds cooperate and harmonize into something that soothes and settles the soul. Bring together the hard edges and the soft flutters, the dark shadows and the sparkling light, the strength of the bull elk and the delicacy of the lupine and you'll find the beautiful contrasts that move me.
